This basket from Maison Bengal is a versatile accessory or storage solution, showcasing a thick and sturdy Chatai weave. Woven from the dried leaves and stems of the Hogla plant, this basket is finished with one sturdy handle.

 

Woven by female artisans that are supported by Maison Bengal - a Fairtrade social enterprise that work with women in rural areas of Bangladesh. They train each community with traditional craft skills such as weaving and basketry, and utilise local, natural materials. A slight roughness to each. Being entirely handmade, no two will be the same.
